YOUR INFORMATION
Google Drive
privacy policy.
A clear explanation of how our research integration uses Google Drive information.
Effective September 27, 2026.
What this policy covers
This policy covers the operator-managed Google Drive integration for Boone Buzz, a local guide to food, music, events, and local businesses in Boone and Watauga County, North Carolina. The integration helps our operator receive research files, check them, and organize results for review.
Google Drive authorization is for the Boone Buzz operator. Visitors do not need to connect their Drive accounts to read our website. This policy describes the Drive research integration; other Boone Buzz features may require their own privacy disclosures.
Information we access
After the operator authorizes Google Drive access, the integration can read research files and related information such as file names, file identifiers, folder locations, modification times, and file checksums. Research files may contain public source links, quotations, venue details, game schedules, and research notes.
The workflow is configured to use designated research folders. Google may grant broader Drive permissions than those folder choices; those choices are workflow restrictions, not a separate Google permission boundary. The consent screen describes the permissions being requested.
We store the authorization needed to keep the connection working. Boone Buzz does not ask for or receive your Google password.
How we use it
We use Drive information to retrieve research, validate its format, check supporting sources, prevent duplicate processing, recover interrupted work, and create or update research results. The integration can move files between designated intake, processed, and review folders.
A research file does not become a public listing simply because it is uploaded or passes a format check. Any later publication of researched facts is a separate editorial process.
Access and sharing
Google processes files through Google Drive. Boone Buzz processes research on infrastructure managed by its operator. Authorized people or tools assisting with operation, troubleshooting, or research review may access the information needed for that work. Website delivery and security providers may process ordinary request information when you visit this page.
We do not sell Google user data, use it for targeted advertising, or use it to train generalized artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models. We limit uses and transfers of information received from Google APIs to those permitted by the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Storage and retention
Research files and results are stored in Google Drive. Local processing records and workflow logs support troubleshooting, duplicate prevention, and recovery. Authorization is stored separately in the workflow platform’s credential store.
Research files and recovery records are retained until the operator removes them. Workflow logs and backups follow the operator’s configured retention settings. Disconnecting Google Drive does not erase these retained copies. You can contact us to request deletion of information associated with the integration, including retained copies.
Disconnecting and deletion requests
You can revoke the application’s Google access through your Google Account connections. Revocation prevents new access through that authorization; it does not automatically delete research files or copies already stored.
To ask about the integration or request deletion, email [email protected]. Include enough detail to identify the relevant files or account, but do not send passwords, access tokens, or other credentials. We may need to verify that you are authorized to make the request.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when the integration’s data practices change and show the effective date of the revised policy.
