About: NC Wildlife-managed game land in northwest Ashe County with hiking, hunting, fishing and seasonally restricted equestrian access. Use the current state map to locate public parking, designated camping areas, boundaries and gated access roads.

Hours and access: Vehicle access varies by gate. The state map distinguishes gates open April 1-January 1 from gates open September 1-January 1 and during turkey season. Follow the specific gate and posted conditions.

Seasonal notes: Horseback riding is prohibited November 1-May 15. Designated equestrian trails may be used May 16-August 31, and on Sundays only September 1-October 31, subject to current NC Wildlife rules.
