About: Iconic multi-tiered waterfall at the head of Linville Gorge, reached by short trails to four overlooks: Erwin's View, Chimney View, Upper Falls and the Plunge Basin.

Hours and access: Outdoor trail access depends on current road and trail closures. NPS lists some trails closed after Hurricane Helene; consult the official trail map and live road-status page.

Before you go: Some Linville Falls trails remain closed after Hurricane Helene. The November 1 NPS road report lists the spur road open but the campground and picnic area closed. Portable toilets are noted in the recovery project update. Swimming in the river and climbing on the rocks are prohibited.
